Fasting 16:8

Gut Reset

Fiber from vegetables, ferments, and fewer sugar feasts for the wrong microbes.

Plant fiberMagnesiumOmega-3Trace mineralsZinc

The plate

  • 75%non-starchy vegetables
  • 18%protein
  • 7%added fat

Steps

  1. 01Add vegetable volume slowly if you are coming from a low-fiber menu — a cabbage avalanche bloating you is not a failure.
  2. 02Chew. Walk. Do not drink a litre of water on the plate.
  3. 03A fork of raw sauerkraut with meals if you tolerate ferments.
  4. 04Magnesium (citrate can loosen; glycinate is calmer) in the evening.
  5. 05Sugar is dessert for yeast. Take it off the payroll.

Eat

  • Zucchini
  • Spinach
  • Sauerkraut
  • Olive oil
  • Ginger
  • Broccoli
  • Chia (soaked)

Skip

  • Sugar alcohols if they gas you
  • Gum
  • Allium piles if they are your IBS trigger

Food-first notes

  • Probiotic (targeted)

Gut lining and cravings. Useful after antibiotics or a very sterile menu.

  • Magnesium glycinate

Sleep, cramps, and vitamin D activation. Oxide is cheap and poorly absorbed for many.

  • Digestive enzymes

Bridges the gap while you rebuild bile flow and stomach acid.

  • Apple cider vinegar

A pre-meal bitter that many keto protocols use for cravings and post-meal glucose.
